Hermann Park Conservancy FAQ confirms grilling is allowed: ~17 first-come charcoal grills and picnic tables throughout the park. Covered pavilions currently closed for construction (call HPARD 832-394-8805). Subject to county burn bans.

Good to know

FishingLicense Fishing is permitted at the Fishing Pier. It is restricted to those aged 12 and younger and 65 and older (Sec. 32-35 City of Houston Municipal Code). A Texas fishing license is required for those aged between 12 and 65. Catch and release is recommended.
AlcoholLimited Alcohol is allowed in the Park, but not in glass containers
DogsLeash Dogs are allowed in Hermann Park on a leash. The McWilliams Dog Park is the only area where dogs are permitted to be off leash. All city municipal codes pertaining to dogs must be followed, including cleaning up after them. No pets are allowed on the Hermann Park train, Lott Family carousel, pedal boats, in the play garden, water play garden or any buildings (except for service dogs).
