About this place

29-acre town pond with a sandy beach, picnic areas, playground swings and a 1/4-mile loop trail through the adjacent Conservation Forest. Open fires are banned except within grills; glass containers, alcohol without a permit, and smoking are also prohibited, and dogs are excluded from the beach itself.

SwimmingLifeguard Swimming is allowed at the beach area with lifeguards provided at limited times during summer months. Adult supervision for children 12 years and younger is required. Diving (head-first entries) is prohibited. Swimming outside the buoys is at your own risk. Swimming outside the controlled beach area in the lake is not encouraged and is at your own risk.
FishingNo Fishing is prohibited at the beach area throughout the year. Fishing is allowed elsewhere in the lake in accordance with Massachusetts fishing regulations.
AlcoholPermit Alcohol is prohibited unless an alcohol use permit is obtained from the Great Barrington Board of Selectmen for a specific function and duly authorized by the Parks and Recreation Commission. Alcohol is prohibited in the conservation forest and on the lake.
