SwimmingLifeguard Swimming allowed in designated bathing/swim areas only, marked by red and white swim buoys. Lifeguard services provided at Compo and Burying Hill Beaches from Memorial Day to Labor Day, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. South Beach has no lifeguards—swim at your own risk.
FishingLimited Fishing in bathing/swim area is prohibited unless permission is granted by Parks and Recreation Department.
AlcoholPermit Alcoholic beverages are prohibited at Compo Beach facility without a written permit, except at South Beach picnic area. Beer kegs or containers in excess of one liter prohibited. Alcoholic beverages only permitted on South Beach in picnic areas.
DogsLeash Animals are prohibited at beaches April 1 to Sept. 30, except when going to and from boat moored at Ned Dimes Marina. Dogs permitted in vehicles and on leash in Soundview Parking lot. Dogs on leash at Ned Dimes Marina and E.R. Strait Marina.
