About this place

Fairfield's inland freshwater beach (170-acre open space around a man-made lake), popular with families for its splash pad and playground. The Town's general fire rule (fire only in installed receptacles) applies here as at the ocean beaches, and no grills are listed among Lake Mohegan's facilities, so private propane/charcoal grills are not permitted; only the reservable, supervised bonfire pit is available for open flame.

Common questions

Can you grill at Lake Mohegan?

Grilling rules at Lake Mohegan aren't stated on its official page. No sticker required to use the parking lot itself, but the swimming-beach entrance charges a fee to anyone who does not hold a Fairfield season pass. A supervised bonfire pit can be reserved separately (residents 21+, May 23-Sept 6, Thu-Sun) for a fee — this is a fire-department-supervised bonfire program, not general-purpose grilling. Always confirm current rules on the official page before you go.
